The Catholic University of America

About Us

Our purpose is to help you to make the most of yourself as a developing person--more comfortable and effective in your own life and in your relations with others. This could mean overcoming unwanted feelings and behaviors or enhancing what you are already doing well. The staff includes clinical psychologists, social workers, and counselors experienced in working with college students. Psychiatric consultation is available when deemed necessary by the counselor. All discussions and records are confidential in accordance with the law. There is no fee for up to 45 sessions of counseling, psychotherapy, or psychiatric consultations for full-time students. However the Counseling Center may refer a student to an off-campus provider should we assess that the student's needs will be better met elsewhere.  Part-time students are not eligible for individual counseling services, but may receive a one-time consultation to facilitate the referral process to an outside provider.  Part-time students are also eligible to participate in group therapy.

To schedule an appointment during the academic year, call (202) 319-5765, or come to the Counseling Center, located at 127 O'Boyle Hall, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Fridays.
